P. & J.D., Blackpool"Thank you for all the help."
M.,Blackpool"Mrs Walmsley was a fantastic tutor. She assessed our son before tutoring sessions began.Based on the assessment she devised a structured teaching plan and continuously informed us of progress. She pushed him gently and made him believe that he could do it.We are delighted that he received 3 grades above his expected English GCSE target grades,English Language A and English Literature A. Thank you so much for your dedicated and flexible support. Julie, Lytham St Annes.""Having a private tutor to help me with my barrier(Dyscalculia),was the most beneficial way to gain a grade C in Maths. At the start of my private tutoring, I described to her how the disability affects me when I'm learning maths at college. She listened and took notes for herself.Mrs Walmsley has helped me to understand topics of maths, which I thought were tricky. If I was unsure of something, then Mrs Walmsley would break it down for me.Once she broke it down for me,she never forced me to go faster than I was comfortable with, but guided me through each topic, together we worked at an even pace. Finally, after 10 months of private lessons,I finally gained a grade C in GCSE mathematics. I can now go on to university to become a Primary School Teacher."Rebecca, Blackpool.

We can undertake assessments for Specific Learning Difficulties, using recognised and approved standardised tests, which can be used to gain insight into support needs and special arrangements for examinations for any age and ability. These assessments provide valuable insight into the overall functioning of the individual and their potential for learning in specific areas of the curriculum. Parents, teachers and the individual will gain understanding about the reasons for underachievement and in some cases behavioural problems. Following an assessment, further referrals can be made through the NHS and advice can be given about entitlement to certain services in school and the community. Assessments can also be useful to gain reasonable adjustments in the workplace.
